Equipment List

Orion's machine operators are skilled in tradtional machine processes and CNC equipment programming and operation.

Waterjet Equipment:      

            1 – Dynamic Waterjet 4 x 4 ft table, 50 horsepower 60,000 PSI cutting pressure. Paser ECL Plus cutting head virtually eliminates taper. Cuts metals, stone, glass and composites, with increased accuracy.

1 – Bengal 4 x 4 abrasive waterjet with Flow Master PC based controller

General capabilities include:

• Net cutting area of 48” in the Y axis and 48” in the X axis.
• Cuts metallic and non-metallic materials up to 2” thick.
• Accuracy: +/-.006
• Speed Range: .1 – 300 ipm
• Can import drawings from other CAD programs (DXF and IGES format)

Mill  Equipment:

1 – Trak CNC three-axis bed mill – 31” in X, 17” in Y, 23.5” in Z
3 – Hurco VM2 CNC three-axis vertical machining center 40” x 18”x18”
1 – Birmingham CNC two-axis mill – 32” in X, 17” in Y
1 – Bridgeport vertical mill, with digital read out
1 – Millrite vertical mill – 24” longitudinal travel, 6” cross feed travel, 12”         vertical travel
1 – Sharp horizontal mill – 37-3/8” longitudinal travel, 14-” cross feed travel, 18” vertical travel
1 – Lagun Universal mill – 40” longitudinal travel, 14” cross feed travel, 13” vertical travel

General capabilities include:

• Three-axis capability (16 pocket tool changer)
• Rotary table available
• Profiling table available for PFT type jobs

Turning Equipment:  

1 - Hurco TM8 CNC slant-bed turning center that is equipped with an 8-inch chuck and has a maximum cutting diameter of 12 inches. It is equipped with a bar feeder and has a 2 inch diameter capacity for bar stock.

1 - Sheldon turret lathe – 1.5” collet capacity, 1/8” – 14” 3 jaw capacity

Saw Equipment:

4 – Delta 10” table saws
2 – Rockwell 10” chop saws
1 – Rockwell 12” chop saw
1 - Rockwell 20” bandsaw
1 – Eisele Panda 12” circular saw (up cut) with digital length measuring device
1 – Horizontal band saw (HEM) 16” diameter capability (CNC programming multiple cuts) 

General capabilities for the saws include:

• Round Tubing up to 16” diameter
• Square shapes up to 3.5”
• Rectangular shapes up to 8” x 1”
• Miter cuts from 0 to 90 degrees

Shear Equipment:

1 – 72” Accushear .250” thick capacity shear with 36” back gauge
1 – 48” Niagara 10 gauge shear with 24” back gauge and 32” front gauge
1 – 24” Diacro 16 gauge hand shear with 18” back gauge
1 – 6” Diacro 16 gauge hand notcher

General capabilities for the shears include:

• Handle sheet stock sizes up to 72” wide x 144” long
• Handle material from .015” to .250” thick

Press Brake Equipment:

1 – Diacro 55-ton press brake (96” bend length capability) with a two-axis CNC back gauge
1 – Amada 35-ton press brake (48” bend length capability) with a two-axis CNC back gauge
1 – Niagara 36-ton press brake (72” bend length capability)

General capabilities for the press brakes include:

• .032” to 1.00” bend radius
• .250” thick x 48” long capacity for aluminum
• .190” thick x 48” long capacity for steel
• Note: No roll forming capabilities

Blanking Press Equipment:

1 – Sutherland 176-ton press
1 – Sutherland 66-ton press
1 – Niagara 45-ton press

General capabilities for the blanking presses include:

• Handles dies up to 21” x 40” in size (with up to 176 tons of blanking pressure)
• Blank non-metallic material with steel rule dies
• Piercing Equipment:

2 – Kenco 20-ton presses
1 – Kenco 12-ton press
1 – Kenco 8-ton press

General capabilities for piercing equipment include:

• .250” thick x 144” long capacity for aluminum
• .060” – 2.00” hole and slot sizes

CNC Piercing Equipment:

1 – Amada 22-ton CNC turret punch press

General capabilities for the turret punch press include:

• Turret capable of holding 24 different types of punches
• 2 auto indexing stations
• Maximum punch size of 3.500” diameter
• Handles up to 40” x 80” sheet (with repositioning)
• Supported by a CAD/CAM system for nesting of multiple parts

Shaping Equipment:

1- Techno-isel 59”x 60” 3 axis CNC router
1 – Onsrud overhead router
2 – Spindle shapers

General capabilities include:

• 3 axis CNC capability 
• Bed size 59” x 60”
• 5 tool capability per program
• Extruded or sheet stock
• 72” stock length
• Limited non-metallic capabilities

Drilling Equipment:

10 – 15” Drill presses
1 – Unidrill radial broken arm drill – 42” table, 24” reach
1 – Millrite 18" x 40" travel

• Up to ½” chuck capabilities
• 144” stock lengths
• Countersinking capabilities
